What you need:

  • 125g/4oz Odlums Cream Plain Flour
  • 125g/4oz Butter or Margarine (room temperature)
  • 75g/3oz Chocolate
  • 150g/5oz Shamrock Golden Caster Sugar
  • 1 tsp Goodall's Vanilla Essence
  • 2 Eggs (beaten)
  • Pinch of Salt
  • Pinch of Odlums Baking Powder

    To Decorate

  • 125g/4oz Chocolate melted with 50g/2oz Butter
  • 3 tbsp Icing Sugar sieved and mixed with 1 tbsp Water
  • Sweets
  • Lollipop Sticks

How to:

  1. Preheat oven to 160°C/320°F/Gas 3. Lightly grease and base line a 7"/18cm square tin. Small roasting tin would also do.
  2. Melt the butter/margarine and chocolate together over a low heat.
  3. Remove from heat, add the sugar and mix well.
  4. Add vanilla essence and eggs. Beat well.
  5. Sieve the flour, salt and baking powder together and gently stir into chocolate mixture.
  6. Pour into prepared tin and bake for about 40-50 minutes until crusty on top.
  7. Remove from oven and allow to cool.
  8. Cut into triangles to resemble Christmas Trees. Spread some of the melted chocolate on top, drizzle with icing and decorate with sweets.
  9. Dip the lollipop stick into the melted chocolate and press into the base to create a tree. Enjoy!
