What you need:

500g Odlums Cream Plain Flour

2 pinches Sugar

2 pinches Salt

2 teaspoons Odlums Baking Powder

75g Shamrock Sultanas

Zest of one lemon

350ml Buttermilk

How to:

  • Weigh all the dry ingredients into a large bowl and mix them all up with a good wooden spoon.

 

  • Add the buttermilk and mix well until all are combined.

 

  • Take the bread out onto the surface with a little dusting of flour and bring it all together until you form a nice smooth shape.

 

  • Cut a cross over the top and then brush with some of the excess buttermilk.

 

  • Bake on a greased tray at 180C for 30-35mins.

 

  • Take out of the oven and leave to cool

 

  • Enjoy with Butter and or Jam
