What you need:

  • 225g/8oz Odlums Self Raising Flour, sieved
  • 125g/4oz Butter or Margarine (room temperature)
  • 125g/4oz Caster Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 4 tablespoons Water
  • Few drops Goodall's Almond Essence
  • 175g/6oz Sultanas

How to:

  1. Preheated oven to 180°C/350°F/Gas 4. Greased and base line a 450g/1lb loaf tin.
  2. Cream butter/margarine and sugar.
  3. Beat in eggs, water and almond essence.
  4. Stir in sieved flour. Add sultanas and mix well.
  5. Transfer to prepared tin and bake in preheated oven for approx 45 minutes or until cake is golden brown and firm to the touch.
