What you need:

  • 1.5kg Apples
  • 150g Golden Caster Sugar or light brown Sugar
  • Juice of half a Lemon 
  • 50g butter , (cold)
  • 100g Odlums Cream Plain Flour

How to:

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C. 
  2. Peel the apples, then quarter them and remove the core. Cut them into 2-3cm chunks.  
  3. Place them into a saucepan over a medium heat with the lemon juice, sugar and cook for 5minutes until slightly softened. 
  4. Meanwhile, rub the butter into the flour until it resembles breadcrumbs. 
  5. Tip the apple mixture into a nice baking tin and then top with the crumble. 
  6. Bake for 25-30minutes until golden and serve with some whipped cream or custard or both. Enjoy.
